We Sisters of Social Service are most grateful for the time, talent, prayers, support and financial assistance given to us.
Financial gifts allow us to:
- Continue the community’s mission to serve the poor in Christ's name
- Promote values of peace, compassion, social justice and reverence for life; and
- Provide loving care for our elderly and infirm Sisters
There are many ways to help us:
Annual Giving
Once a year a mailing is sent to ask support for the ministries of the community. Generous benefactors have helped us with educating our young Sisters, health care for our older Sisters, and transportation for all of our Sisters.
Annual Dinner
Each year in the fall we hold a dinner and invite friends and supporters from the Western New York area. This is a joyous occasion at which we renew acquaintances and also learn more about timely issues from well-known speakers.
Christmas Wheat
Following a lovely Hungarian tradition, we send out packets of wheat seeds to hundreds of families, individuals, schools, churches, and religious education programs all over the country. These seeds are to be planted during Advent and carefully nurtured to produce abundant grass for the Christ Child’s creche at Christmas.

Bequests
Remembering the Sisters of Social Service in your will is a wonderful way to assure that our ministries continue.
Car Donations
In the metropolitan Buffalo, NY area, you can donate your used car to Charity Fundings, and designate the Sisters of Social Service as the recipient charity. You may receive a tax deduction for the fair market value of your vehicle. Contact us for further information.
Prayerful Support
It is only through the abundant love and grace of God that we are able to carry on our ministries. We are deeply grateful for the prayers of our many friends and supporters. In all our work, we bring the hope of the Holy Spirit, Who is the center of our life and mission. Please pray with us to the Holy Spirit for the needs of the whole world!
Advocacy
There are many ways you can be in solidarity with us in the work for peace, social justice, and the promotion of equality and dignity for all people. In whatever way is most comfortable for you, we ask that you be an active and spirit-filled advocate for the rights of the oppressed, the needs of the poor, and the world’s longing for peace.
